Senior Development Manager

Outline Job Description Planning Applications

1. Negotiate legal documentation with our partners and ensure compliance throughout the development. Legal documents will include land assembly, construction, development management agreements and JV agreements. 2. Manage planning application. 3. Appoint and coordinate external consultants in order to deliver the planning applications. 4. Liaise with in-house technical disciplines to ensure a robust planning application. 5. Undertake detailed financial appraisals to review and monitor financial viability. 6. Liaise with stakeholders on the projects, including local authorities and residents. 7. Obtain internal approvals for projects. Post planning the successful candidate will be responsible for; 1. Ongoing monitoring of financial performance, reviewing and managing budgets and programme. 2. Liaison with in-house sales and marketing team to establish marketing strategy and values. 3. Liaison with in-house conveyancing team regarding unit sales. 4. Liaison with construction team regarding design and specification. 5. Attendance and contribution to site meetings. 6. Ongoing review of legal, planning and s106 obligations. General responsibilities will include; 1. Monthly financial updates. 2. Internal reporting. 3. Continuous risk management. Knowledge and Skills 1. Successful track record in managing complex non-standard residential developments through the critical elements of the development cycle. 2. Capable of creating coherent development plans. 3. Strong commercial orientation supported by financial modelling and budget control, able to extract maximum value from each project. 4. Capable of conceptualising projects and managing delivery of the key stages. 5. A track record in leading and motivating the work of multi-disciplinary teams of internal & external professionals. 6. Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills. 7. Pro-active style and drive, coupled with a real commitment to consensus and team work. 8. An ability to prioritise and delegate as appropriate, to ensure all aspects of the job are completed to standard and on time. 9. IT literate, especially in Excel. 10. Ideally holding a recognised degree or appropriate professional qualification.
