$ 0 - - & $ 5 * 7 * 5 r $ 0 . . 6 / * 5 : CRYSLER FÊTE LA FIN DE L’ÉTÉ C’est sous un soleil radieux que la communauté de Crysler a souligné la fin de la saison estivale, le 25 août dernier. « C’est incroyable, on ne peut pas demander mieux ! C’est pour la communauté, c’est une façon de finir notre été », s’est exprimé l’un des organisateurs de la journée Crysler Fun Day et vice-président du Centre communautaire de Crysler, Luc Breton. Des activités pour toute la famille étaient prévues lors de cette journée bien spéciale ! Parmi celles-ci, on comptait un tournoi de fer à cheval, où 16 équipes composées de deux joueurs se sont affrontées tout en s’amusant. En plus. les quelque 200 participants à la journée Crysler Fun Day ont pu faire des achats locaux, puisque 11 vendeurs étaient installés sur le site de l’évènement ! —photos Caroline Prévost

KIN CLUB SWEEPS NATIONAL SERVICE AWARDS
Un autre commerce devient fier commanditaire du projet d'encan de Centraide/United Way Prescott-Russell. Le magasin Rockland Ford se joint aux commerces qui participeront à l'encan. The Kin Club of Russell was recognized nationally as having the best service project of the year. The Russell Township Sports Dome project was named best service project of the year August 17 at the Kin Canada national convention in Sarnia. The Kin Club of Russell was also recognized with Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s Bill Skelly Award for its Catch The Ace project in which funds from this lottery were directed to cystic fibrosis research. Earlier in that day, the Kin Club of Russell was also recognized as having won the Outstanding Club Award, the Ken Pierce Membership Award (for growth), the Outstanding Boake Efficiency Award (for administration efficiency). Individual awards were also handed out to the Kin Club’s members; Maya Desrosiers won the Outstanding Maple Leaf Award and Doug Anthony won five GEM Awards (awarded for sponsoring three new members in a one-year period). Nationally, Kin Canada celebrated raising over $20 million for its communities last year and as well having reached the $46 million plateau of donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
