Such a familiar and laid-back environment lends itself to both discreet conversations over lunch with a business associate, and high-spirited banter with friends on the balcony, cheering a backed outsider. The sounds in the clubroom meld into a warm, embracing hubbub that rises and falls throughout the day. Full Members have their own dedicated table for the entire three years of their membership. A reliable base for each raceday means that ‘neighbours’ know when their friends are at ‘home’ and can schedule to visit for a catch-up when they’re all there. Familiar faces fill The Club, and groups of members frequently schedule to meet up on racedays for both social and business engagements. From the moment of arrival at the racecourse, membership of The Cheltenham Club makes everything easier. Dedicated parking, conveniently located near the entrance to the racecourse, makes entrance and exit smooth for members, while the handmade metal badges that signify membership allow for uninterrupted passage to the racecourse through a dedicated arrivals channel. Staircases both indoors and outdoors provide secure access to the top of the Princess Royal building, where the Club Manager and their team welcome members with a familiar warmth. The merits of the day’s runners and riders can be discussed with members
and staff alike, as everyone associated with The Club is equally passionate about racing. Everything is geared towards the action on course: racing posts and complimentary Wi-Fi make studying the day’s form and placing bets easy, while private betting couriers are on hand throughout the day. Large television screens are visible from every seat in the clubroom, so members never have to miss a moment’s action. Lunch is served in time for racing to be enjoyed uninterrupted, while afternoon tea can be taken at each member’s convenience. Full Membership of The Cheltenham Club provides a table for two, four, six, eight or ten people for all 16 days’ racing, for a minimum three-year tenure. Chase and Hurdle Memberships offer eight days’ racing in the clubroom, and two days during The Festival at Chez Roux, on Wednesday and Friday, and Tuesday and Thursday respectively. As our attention turns with growing excitement to the 2021/22 season, when we will welcome members old and new to The Cheltenham Club, we are pleased to be able to offer a rarely available and very limited number of new memberships for application. There are early indications that the forthcoming season, particularly The Festival, will be extremely popular, so we strongly advise any prospective members to contact us as soon as possible to secure their place at the Home of Jump Racing.
