Les amateurs de pétanque et d’activi- tés sociales ont jusqu’au 29 mai pour s’inscrire aux Jeux des 50 ans et plus de Prescott, dont la 17 e édition aura lieu du 8 au 10 juin à Hawkesbury et Saint-Isidore. Selon Madeleine Besner, coordon- natrice des Services communautaires de Prescott et Russell, les organisateurs s’attendent à recevoir entre 800 et 1000 personnes lors de l’événement. Une vingtaine d’activités seront organisées par les différents clubs d’âge d’or du comté de Prescott.
Parmi celles-ci, le golf est de retour au Club La Cité. Il y aura aussi la marche histo- rique dans la partie autrefois nommée l’annexe à Hawkes- bury. De la pétanque en pas- sant par le mini-putt ou les quilles, la danse en ligne ou le zumba, il y en aura pour tous les goûts, à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur. Les personnes intéressées peuvent s’inscrire auprès des clubs d’âge d’or de la région ou auprès des Ser-
vices communautaires de Prescott et Russell en composant le 1-888-414-4494. La clôture des jeux aura lieu à Saint- Isidore, le mercredi 10 juin, avec spec- tacle folklorique offert par le groupe Les Bons Vivants composé de Brian et Benoît St-Pierre, Yvon Neveu ainsi que Jocelyne Martin. « Cette troupe fait renaître dans le cœur de ses auditeurs le goût des bonnes chansons à répondre et des soirées du bon vieux temps », a assuréMme Besner, en précisant qu’un souper sera servi avant les festivités.
