Every three minutes another Canadian is faced with fighting cancer.Throughout April, volunteers in Cornwall and across Ontario will be working together to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society during Daffodil Month. Wear a daffodil pin throughout April, and, most importantly, on April 27 which is Daffodil Day . For a small donation, Canadians can wear the pin to show solidarity with those living with cancer, letting them know they are not alone. Money raised during Daffodil Month helps the Society do everything it can to prevent cancer, fund research to outsmart cancer and empower, inform and support people living with cancer right here in Cornwall.

She was arrested on April 5. It is alleged that throughout Jan- uary and February 2012, she attempted to obtain money by soliciting door to door. She was released to appear in court on April 4. Charges laid in drug raid A 22-year-old Cornwall man faces drug charges after a police raid at a Carleton Street residence on April 5. The man was found to be in possession of about $1,000 of marijuana. Daniel Lamesse, 22, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a con- trolled substance. He was released to ap- pear in court on May 10. Damaged de-fence A 27-year-old Cornwall man’s fence hopping has landed him in more trouble with the law. Clayton Delorme -- accused of damaging a fence while fleeing police on Feb. 14 after failing to return an ac- quaintance’s cell phone he had borrowed two weeks earlier – was arrested by Corn- wall police on April 6. He is charged with mischief under $5,000, four counts of breach of a probation order and escape lawful custody. He was held in custody until court the following day. Domestic assault A 21-year-old Cornwall man was ar- rested April 9 in connection with a do- mestic incident. It is alleged that he got into an altercation with his 21-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. She did not require medical treatment. He is charged with domestic assault and re- leased to appear in court on the 29th of May, 2012. Worker assaulted A 14-year-old Cornwall youth has been charged after a 32-year-old group home worker was assaulted during an April 11 altercation. The youth is charged with as- sault. He was released to appear in court on May 17. His name was not released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Golden opportunity The Cornwall Community Police Serv- ice is currently investigating a break and enter that occurred between the April 10 and 11 at a Second Street East store. The suspect(s) gained entry to a vacant store and made a hole in the drywall to gain entry to the neighbouring store. They re- moved a variety of jewelry and an undis- closed amount of money. Anyone with information regarding the break and enter, may contact Cornwall police at 613- 932-2110 or Crime Stoppers at 613-937- 8477. Police seize pot plants SD&G OPP officers have seized 23 mar- ijuana plants after they were called to a disturbance in South Glengarry on Thurs- day. When police arrived at the late- evening disturbance on Frog Hollow Road, they discovered that a man who had been in an argument with occupants of the home was contravening conditions from a previous incident. After further in- vestigation, police discovered marijuana being grown in the residence. Jeremy Rozon, 32, of North Glengarry is charged with production of a controlled substance, breach of probation and three counts of failing to comply with a recog- nizance. A resident of the home, Carson Reasbeck, 57, is charged with production of a controlled substance. Wheel scary A Quebec man has been charged with unsafe operation of a commercial vehicle after a driver noticed a wheel assembly had become detached from his tractor- trailer unit. When police intercepted the unit on the Highway 401 near Lancaster, they observed the dual wheel assembly had indeed become attached from the trailer. The driver, Vimalsri Vimalakulen- dran, 33, of Vaudreuil-Dorion was charged by SD&G OPP. A numbered company from Milton, Ont. which owns the tractor-trailer faces a charge of permit- ting the operation of an unsafe combina- tion of commercial vehicle, according to police. Teen charged A South Stormont teen has been charged after causing a disturbance at her County Road 44 home on April 11. Investigation
