We are one of the largest universities in the UK with 32,000 studying on our programmes in Leeds and abroad. We are also one of the biggest employers in the city with around 3,000 staff. Our staff and students come from more than 100 countries around the world, making up our Leeds Beckett community of learning and scholarship. We are committed to great customer service and we are proud to be the only university in the UK to hold both the Customer Service Excellence (CSE) and IIP (Gold) accreditations across our whole institution. Based in a major city, our two campuses offer contrasting learning environments – a modern campus in the heart of the city and an impressive historic campus in the nearby leafy suburb of Headingley. Our 190-year history of education began with the founding of the Leeds Mechanics Institute in 1824: we are extremely proud of our heritage and excited about our future.
