Recycling
We’re constantly reviewing our sustainability and recycling practices and are making a concerted effort to reduce the amount of waste from plastic and other materials across the entire event. We work with local partners to remove waste (plastic, cardboard, wooden pallets, medals and signage) from the run site. We reuse generic signage and keep using it for as long as we can, and our outdated signage is fully recycled. Clothing discarded by runners at the start of the race is collected and donated to local charities.
However, we can’t do it alone – we need your help too!
• Please use the recycling bins provided to dispose of any waste appropriately.
• As part of our drive to improve sustainability at the event, bottled water will not be provided at the start area. Instead, a water refill station will be available for you to top up your own bottle before the run (See start/finish map for location). We encourage all participants to arrive well-hydrated and to bring a reusable bottle with them. • If you opt to bring your own standard, single use plastic water bottle, please make sure you throw it in the clearly marked recycling bins that will be available in the start and finish area. • To donate any old or unwanted shoes, please use the designated shoe recycle bin at the Information Point. The exact location is marked on the Start/Finish Map.
