DESCRIPTION: The City contracts with the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) for fire suppression, prevention, inspection, public education, and paramedic services. The Orange County Fire Authority is a regional fire service agency that serves 23 cities in Orange County and all unincorporated areas. The OCFA protects over 1,980,000 residents from its 77 fire stations located throughout Orange County. One member of the Tustin City Council serves on the Board of Directors of the Fire Authority. In fiscal year 2007-08 the City Council authorized an extension of the contract with the Fire Authority for an additional twenty years.
