How Celebs Keep Their Skin Hydrated

The Secret to a Flawless Complexion Have you ever noticed that when a celebrity is asked to spill the secrets to their great skin, they attribute it to everyday habits like drinking plenty of water and never going to bed with makeup on? While we all know that these habits are good for us, they’re likely not gonna cut it on their own for a hydrated and glowing red carpet- ready complexion. Really, how does J-Lo’s skin look that good? Here are some specialized tricks celebs use to keep their skin looking flawless. Refine: Use a nonalcoholic toner plus a hyaluronic acid. As celebrity skincare expert Renée Rouleau points out, a lot of the water we drink is filtered out by our kidneys, so to keep our skin moist, we still need to add moisture topically. A toner that doesn’t contain alcohol followed by a skin serum with hyaluronic acid will seal in moisture. Rouleau also suggests a water-based gel mask once a week to really add moisture to your skin. Cleanse: Develop a morning and nighttime routine to help products work better.

Removing products you wear during the day actually helps them work better when

reapplying the next day, says Rouleau. Cleanse at night to remove your everyday products and in the morning to remove toxins that build up while you sleep. Look for sulfate-free cleansers that work well with your skin. Protect: Utilize a combination of facials and SPF.

Many celebrities get weekly chemical peels, LED light treatments, exfoliation — the works. That may not be realistic for you, and that’s okay. Developing a routine that works for you, and sticking to it, is the way to go. Try a combination of facials with an esthetician who customizes products to your skin and other treatments as needed. And, of course, there is one thing you should do every day: Apply sunscreen.
