ArtBeat - Fall 2022

Dear Friends, This year commemorates the Holiday Faire 40th Anniversary! What began as the “Holiday Stocking Bazaar” has since grown exponentially, moving from the Irvine Fine Arts Center to the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex to host more artists than ever before. Don’t miss the festivities Saturday, November 5, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. With new exhibitions citywide, make plans to view art throughout the many exhibition facilities in Irvine. Art at City Hall presents Chloe Jeongmyo Kim: Transplanted Panorama , on view through November 18. The exhibition features works by Korean-born, Irvine-based artist Chloe Kim, who utilizes abstract painting, photography, and sculpture to express her personal experiences of American life. Then, on December 9, Art at City Hall will feature Old Town Irvine and the Photography of Rene Larson in collaboration with the Irvine Historical Society, showcasing photographs of the City’s beginnings. At the Great Park Gallery, view Beyond the Decorative through December 31, an exhibition that explores how decorative motifs and processes express ideas relating to personal identity and experiences. Last but not least, the Irvine Fine Arts Center galleries will open two new exhibitions that explore the transformative potential of images and storytelling respectively in In This World and Infinite Timeline . Please join us for an opening reception Saturday, November 19, 2–4 p.m. Before you are busy with the demands of the season, check out our new programs.
