Dear Kids, One of my favorite things about Louisiana is that there is always something new to learn, celebrate, or be curious about. Our state is full of wonderful traditions, and I especially love finding ways to share those moments with our children and families. As we head into Thanksgiving, I’m reminded of how much there is to be grateful for. I’m thankful for our Louisiana families, our communities, and the people who make this state such a special place to call home. Around the same time, we also take a moment to honor our veterans and remember the Founding Fathers who helped shape our nation. Their service and sacrifices remind us that freedom is something we should never take for granted. Of course, I can’t talk about the fall without mentioning one of my favorite places to be on a Saturday night — Death Valley! I love heading to the LSU football games and feeling that incredible energy in the stadium. There’s nothing quite like cheering with fellow Louisiana fans and being part of that purple-and-gold tradition. Whether we’re learning about science, history, health, or simply enjoying a Saturday night in Death Valley, I hope we never lose that sense of curiosity. There is always something new to discover, and there’s no better place to do it than right here in Louisiana. Hugs & High Fives, Sharon Landry First Lady of Louisiana
