10.2.4 Volume of Pyramids and Cones − Practice

1.  Find the volume of a regular triangular pyramid with base edge length 9 ft and height 12 ft. Round to the nearest tenth, if necessary.

2.  The Great Pyramid is a square pyramid with a base area of 571,536 ft 2 and a height of 48 stories. Each story is approximately 10 feet. Estimate the volume in cubic yards.

3.  Find the volume of a cone with diameter 18 cm and height 15 cm.

4.  Find the volume of a cone with a base area of 64 π m 2 and a height 4 m less than 3 times the radius.

5.  A cone has radius 3.8 cm and height 7.6 cm. The radius and the height are doubled. Describe the effect on the volume.

6.  Find the volume of the composite figure rounded to the nearest tenth.
