Kathy Finds a Friend (concluded) better than that, little daughter. They sparkle, they absolutely sparkle.” Kathy clapped her hands. That’s just what Miss Emerson said! It’s the song, you know. It’s the song that does it.” “What song?” “ The one in my heart. When we find out how much Jesus loves us, and we love Him back, He puts a new song in our mouths— even praise unto our God. The verse said so. Only, Miss Emerson said it all begins in the heart. It’s for all believers—and I’m a very strong believer.” Mother looked at Daddy and wiped her eyes. “ ‘Except ye become as little children,’ ” she said. Then she took the little girl in her arms. “ Kathy, you have found the best song of all— and it is in a Book, the best Book of all—the Bible How happy I am that you have found it so early in life.” Kathy was happy too. Now, when she sat on the floor with her paper dolls while the others practiced, she did not feel lonely or left out any longer. Her song was like a warm glow inside her. Sometimes she put her hand over her heart and whis pered, “ I know you’re there and, when my eyes shine, others will know too.” There would be years in which she could learn the organ. She would leam it well, so she could play it in God’s house some day. In the meantime she knew she had found the best song of all. Hadn’t Mother said so?
