RADIO BROADCASTING by A l Sanders T h is past month I had the oppor tunity of fellowshipping with the managers of Christian broadcasting stations throughout the West. Assem bling at King’s Garden in Seattle, our host was the management of KGDN and its new FM counterpart KGFM. The purpose of the conclave was to es tablish Western Christian Stations, an organization devoted to fostering the growth of the Christian broadcasting station ministry not only in the West, but also as the Lord leads, throughout the country. Moderator was Jerry Swanson, public relations director of King’s Garden, Bob Ball, new mana ger, KGDN and KGFM; Arvid Erick son, KGVW in Belgrade, Montana; Dick Palmquist, KEAR-FM, San Fran cisco; Larry Gordon, KWIL, Albany, Oregon; J e a n Carpenter KHOF ,

It was my privilege to represent Biola’s two stations KBBI, Los Angeles, and our proposed new facility for San Diego, KBBW. Be cause of pressures in many areas to ward the removal of Gospel programs there are now a reported 100 Chris tian radio stations across America. In terestingly enough the majority of these stations began since 1956, when the National Council of Churches urged radio stations to stop accepting paid religious programs. How true it is that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord lifts up a standard against him. One of these months, we’re hoping to report more on Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gordon, of KWIL, Albany. Larry, a Jewish convert, found the Lord several years ago through the ministry of Evangelist Pete Riggs.
