Tauranga Branch

Senior Honours Tie

A luncheon for Bay of Plenty Old Boys and their wives and partners was held at the Tauranga Club on Saturday 19 August 2017. The BOP region is widespread, encompassing not only Taupo and Rotorua, but also Waihi and Coromandel as well. It was pleasing to see Tony Dunlop (6139, Taupo) and John Clayton (5652), Peter Christie (5099) and Peter Davies (6273, Rotorua) and we were delighted to have CCOBA President Jeremy Johnson with us as well. His valuable update on school and Old Boy activities was much appreciated. The challenges being faced by the school post-earthquakes, and in today’s challenging economic times, was enlightening and reinforced the need for all our support. Guest speaker was Bay of Plenty MP Todd Muller, who provided a timely and interesting view on New Zealand politics. My thanks to Roly Hammond (4861) and David Wreaks (5993) for their assistance with organising this event.

Sir Terence Arnold (6983)

Russell Garland (7418), BOP President

A small group of Melbourne based Old Boys met up recently for drinks and dinner, and to watch the second match of the Bledisloe Cup. Those in charge of organising the event would like to schedule another function before Christmas. Our thanks to Cameron Robson (12560) and Nick Williams (11054).
