A host of guests, ranging from hip hop luminaries like MF Doom and Raekwon to folk-rocker Michael Kiwanuka, are seamlessly inter- twined and serve as textural sweeteners to the throwback foundation established by the album's creators. Cheat Codes is a record for today but years in the making.

midi's Hell re . e auditory intake bequeaths a paucity in mental capacity to comprehend the stimulation dispensed by the young Englishmen's third LP. As with their previous e orts, there's an overwhelming pervasive- ness of, "Why, you ask? Because we can!" dominating their work. But while the trio's initial two o erings le me curious more than captivated, Hell re sparks something that I nd hard to ignore. Of course, without your undivided attention, that may be the easiest thing to do. black midi is not for the faint of heart and Hell re does not deconstruct into bite-sized pieces. e theatrical extravagance is some- thing to behold whether or not you actually enjoy the music itself. And if you do, multiple listenings with Hell re as the sole focus of your momentary existence are a prerequisite to full appreciation. is shit is nuts.

pelin III vibes, starting with the chorus on the opening "A Tip From from You to Me." Much like the English legends to whom White has professed his love, the Michigander is no slouch at writing and performing on both ends of that sonic spectrum. While slightly more straightforward than Dawn , Entering Heaven Alive is unmistakably White and littered with his peculiarities. e individual songs themselves on Heaven might not be quite as strong--I completely understand if the masses prefer Fear of the Dawn --but regardless, in my book, Jack White is two for two in 2022.
