Jane et François Mayer de Fournier, Brad et Joanne Marley du même village, ainsi qu’Erica Gyldenbjerg, en sont les heureux grands-parents. Pour leur part, les arrière-grands-parents, Jules Mayer et Andrée Therrien, Robert et Hélène Mayer, Constance Marley et Maurice Dubeau ainsi que David Gyldenbjerg, accueillent avec amour cette attachante représentante de la quatrième génération. Thomas Clarence et Véronique Gascon ont quant à eux accepté la responsabilité d’en être désignés parrain et marraine. Le premier bébé de l’année a attendu au 2 janvier pour montrer le bout de son nez à l’Hôpital Général de Hawkesbury. Le poupon, une petite fille prénommée Abigail, était prévu pour le 31 décembre. Ses parents, Kaitlynn Marley et Kevin Mayer de Maxville, n’en finissent plus de contem- pler cette merveille, leur premier enfant. Moins de 24 heures après l’accouche- ment, la jeune mère de 18 ans semblait fraîche comme une rose et se réjouissait de l’issue des événements. Le 2 janvier, elle venait à l’HGH simplement pour un examen de routine. Néanmoins, on lui a suggéré de rester, la naissance pouvant survenir à tout moment. Et de fait, le travail a commencé. À 20h29, la tête d’Abigail apparaissait sous les bons soins de Dr Jean-Philippe Bercier et de son équipe Le nouveau-né, en parfaite santé, pesait cinq livres et six onces. Thefts and Break-Ins Hawkesbury OPP have been investigating a break and enter that occurred at a County Road 17 residence on New Year’s Eve. The victim arrived home shortly after midnight after attending a New Year’s Eve party and found his home burglarized. 22 firearms were stolen including some collectible and classified as restricted or prohibited. Some of the firearms were military including a sub-machine gun, assault rifles and a non-working bazooka. Some jewellery items were also stolen from the residence. Constable Walter Vandergoten is investigating the matter. Police officers were sent to investigate a break-in that occurred at a James Street residence on January 2. The investigation revealed that a break-in occurred somewhere between December 31 and January 2. The thief broke in through a side door.
