HAWKESBURY | Every year, people make resolutions to get fit, become financially secure or to make their lives better in some way. More often than not, those changes barely get started or never come to pass. According to a Forbes study, approximately 45 percent of Canadians make resolutions; however, just eight percent achieve their NewYear’s goals.

However, there are those who don’t make resolutions and just want to be healthy. Felix Rozon has been a member of Top Gym on Main Street for about a year. “I train here often,” said Ro- zon.“To be healthy and fit.”Jesse Rouleau, an employee of Top Gym, said his resolution is to be fit for summer.“It’s different every year,” said Rouleau. “This year, everyone seems to want to lose weight and be fit for summer.” Living a better Life Weight loss is among the top five resolu-

drastic changes. “I try to make achievable re- solutions,” said Carole MacLeod from Green Valley. “This year, I resolve to live life to the fullest and enjoy living.” Maxime Latulippe from Fit Life Gym said people who join the gym don’t necessarily do it because of a NewYear’s resolution.“The atmosphere is good here,” said Latulippe. “The big windows make the gym bright and welcoming. It makes peoplewant to come to the gym and keep up their goals.” Perhaps trying tostick toan impossible reso- lution is unrealistic. Making small changes and moving in the right direction seems to be the way to go. Perhaps the resolution of the future
