CHAMPLAIN | Most of the country is facing plunging temperatures in the first week of the NewYear. The effects of storms on both coasts linger as ice covers just about every- thing. Some Champlain area residents were without power for short periods during the last few days, more than likely due to ice and wind. Although the first half of December saw above average temperatures with a green Christmas, the long range weather forecast suggests Canadians will be experiencing below average temperatures in the coming month.
