It is indeed a pleasure for me to write this letter in support of the Elder Watson Diggs Award petition for John F. Burrell, a member of the Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter. Brother Burrell, an August 1990 graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, with a B.S. degree in Athletic Training. Brother Burrell was initiated on December 10, 1988 at the University of Southern Mississippi Chapter, the Kappa Iota of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Brother Burrell is a world renowned Athletic Trainer. His professional work experience includes positions as: Head Athletic Trainer at Alcorn State University, Lorman, Mississippi; PRN Certified Athletic Trainer at the University of Florida/Bone and Joint Center, Jacksonville, Florida; Assistant Athletic Trainer for the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars, Jacksonville, Florida; Head Athletic Trainer for the National Football League’s Washington Redskins, Ashburn, Virginia; and Compliance Officer for the City of Jacksonville, Florida. Currently, Brother Burrell serves as the Executive Director of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Brother Burrell’s service to the Grand Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc., to the Southern Province, to the Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter and to all of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., is quite extensive. Notably, at Grand Chapter level he has served as; National MIOP Committee Chairman, National Membership Training Academy Chairman, National Reclamation Committee Member, and Membership Intake Task Force Member. His service to the Southern Province includes having served as; MOIP Chairman, Achievement Committee Chairman, Planning Committee Member, and MTA Committee Member. Also, Brother Burrell is a former member of the Southern Province’s Board of Directors. Brother Burrell’s service to the Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter includes serving as: the 34 th Polemarch of the Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter, where under his leadership the Chapter received the Paul W. Cain International “Large” Alumni Chapter of the Year in 2003; the current Executive Director/Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation- Jacksonville; the recipient of the 2015 Jacksonville Alumni Chapter Man of the Year Award; and Chairman and member of numerous other committees of the Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter. Brother Burrell is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is a Founders’ Club contributor Centennial Capital Campaign 2011 and a member of the Million Dollar Club Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation 1990. He is a Charter Life Member of the Southern Province and Southwestern Province. Also, he is a Life member of the Middle Western Province and the Eastern Province. Brother Burrell was a Charter Member for both the Bossier City (LA) Alumni Chapter and the Dulles-Leesburg (VA) Alumni Chapter. As Southern Province Polemarch, I am honored to endorse the Elder Watson Diggs Award petition for one who embodies Leadership and Achievement, one of the hardest workers in all of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., a Great Kappa Man and my friend, Brother John F.
