Anniesland Langside
Access to Humanities is run in partnership with the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) and is designed for adults who have been away from education, typically for five years or more. You will have the opportunity to study a range of SQA Social Science units at SCQF Levels 5 and 6, alongside units in communication, mathematics and information technology. The course also includes a class in ‘Preparation for Higher Education’ which, combined with guidance, aims to help you reach your full potential. There are two options available for study. If you study at Anniesland Campus, the Access to Humanities course offers progression to social science degrees only. If you study at Langside Campus, the Access to Humanities course offers the potential to progress either to social science degrees or to primary education. If you wish to go on to primary teaching, you will require to study and successfully complete a mathematics examination at SCQF Level 5 and secure and complete a placement in a primary school.
