mencé avec l’humoriste-imitateur Maxime Carrière, originaire de Hawkesbury, qui a chanté en empruntant la voix d’un grand nombre d’artistes. Il a réuni, entre autres, les voix d’Elvis Presley et de Willie Nelson dans une seule chanson, Always onmy mind . Fidèle à lui-même, Éric Trottier a ensuite diverti son public avec des gags osés et ab- surdes. Pour clore le spectacle, la très atten- due Katherine Levac a fait rire aux éclats avec son humour pince-sans-rire. Elle a d’ailleurs terminé la soirée avec une chanson qu’elle a elle-même composée. Son frère, Jean-Phi- lippe Levac, membre du groupe Pandaléon, l’a accompagnée à la guitare.

L’ambiance intime et chaleureuse a per- mis au public de se rapprocher des artistes de la région. La complicité et les éclats de rire ont été au rendez-vous tout au long de la soirée. Rencontrés peu avant le spectacle, les artistes se préparent présentement pour la saison estivale, qu’ils consacreront à leur carrière professionnelle. Maxime Carrière sera dans la région, alors qu’Éric Trottier se concentrera sur son projet de lancement d’une boîte de productionWeb. Pour Kathe- rine Levac, lemois de juin sera surtout com- posé de festivals, dont le ComédiHa! Club, à Québec. Elle sera à Montréal au mois de juillet et en tournage pour Radio-Canada et Télé-Québec, au mois d’août. Aujourd’hui Cornwall, demain Prescott-Russell La station de radio francophone CHOD, établie en 1994, voit non seulement plus haut mais plus loin. En effet, lors de l’assemblée générale annuelle du 21 avril dernier, le directeur général de la station, Marc Charbonneau, a annoncé que l’installation d’une antenne sur une plus grande tour serait complétée d’ici la fin septembre. « Nous sommes en ce moment de 50 à 54 mètres au-dessus de la mer, a précisé M. Charbonneau. Mais la nouvelle tour est à 105mètres au-dessus de lamer. On pourra donc atteindre les comtés de Prescott-Russell. » Mais pourquoi diffuser dans les comtés de Prescott-Russell? Le directeur général a expliqué qu’un immense marché majori- tairement francophone se retrouve presque sans aucune station francophone, autres que quelques diffuseurs d’Ottawa et de Gatineau. « On veut donner une identité à Prescott-Russell et renforcir les liens entre eux et SDG. » Aussi, M. Charbonneau prévoit l’instal- lation d’un deuxième émetteur, pour des raisons de fiabilité. Mais, avec tous ses chan- gements viennent aussi de grosses dépenses. L’installation de l’antenne a été estimée à 150 000 $ et l’émetteur, à 120 000 $. Le projet total est estimé à 350 000 $. « En tout, ça va nous coûter à peu près 116 000 $ par année pour seulement rester en ondes, a-t-il fait valoir. Et ça, c’est sans employés. » Le directeur général a précisé que CHOD ne serait pas le propriétaire de la nouvelle tour et que les bureaux demeureraient à Cornwall.
