Selon l’agent Gauthier, cette intersection n’est généralement pas problématique. Peu de collisions y sont survenues, à son avis. Cependant, des citoyens se sont plaints de la circulation lourde dans ce secteur et le maire de la Cité de Clarence-Rockland, Guy Desjardins, s’apprêtait mardi à déposer une résolution visant à interdire la circulation de véhicules lourds sur la rue Laurier, entre les rues Laporte et Richelieu. A boat owner lost his vessel to thieves before the May long weekend arrived. Police in Rockland have a report about a boat-and-trailer theft from a business on Caron Road sometime over the May 10 weekend. The boat was dropped off for maintenance work and went missing during the night either that Sunday or the following Monday. The boat is a 1998 Baja SST, 36-foot, white with blue and green stripes. Une piétonne a été heurtée par une voiture, le vendredi 15mai vers 13 h 20, en tentant de traverser la rue Laurier à la hauteur de la rue Laporte à Rockland, soit à l’intersection du TimHortons. Arrivés rapidement sur les lieux, les ambulanciers ont pris la dame de 52 ans en charge, la transportant à l’intérieur du véhicule pour lui faire subir les examens de routine. Des blessures mineures ont été constatées mais son état n›a pas nécessité de transfert à l’hôpital. Pendant ce temps, la conductrice s’entretenait avec les policiers, visiblement bouleversée. Selon les témoins, la conductrice à bord d’une KIA rouge, arrivait de la rue Laporte en direction sud et venait d’amorcer un virage sur la rue Laurier en direction est. C’est alors que l’accident s’est produit. La victime n’a pas été frappée de plein fouet et en raison de la manœuvre eectuée, la vitesse n’était
