Purpose The FALL 18 Tuition Waiver Plan sets out waiver categories and criteria for award for the new student freshman and transfer classes entering in the Fall of 2018. Review The Plan has been reviewed by both the Tuition Waiver Subcommittee and the Budget Executive Committee, and forwarded to cabinet for presidential approval. Plan Development Process – Fall 18 and future academic years In June 2017, the University Policy Advisory Committee approved policy and procedure changes to the University budgeting process, resulting in the formation of the CWU Budget Executive Committee (BEC). At its first meeting in October 2017, the BEC created the Tuition Waiver Subcommittee. The Tuition Waiver Subcommittee is charged with: § Recommending the annual Tuition Waiver Plan to the BEC; § Recommending new tuition waiver program requests to include in the annual Tuition Waiver Plan; § Recommending changes in tuition waiver policy; § Ensuring tuition waivers are distributed according to waiver criteria.

The Tuition Waiver Subcommittee met on November 13, 2017 to begin work on the plan for Fall 2019.

The Tuition Waiver Plan for Fall 18 was developed during the summer and early fall of 2017 using input from a cross-campus ad hoc task force. Following the task force’s suggestions, the Office of Financial Planning and Budget Analysis modeled several scenarios, identifying for each the number of waivers
