If you appreciate good Southern cooking, Southbound Food Festival is an absolute must— particularly their Southern Living Food & Fire live-fire tasting event featuring top chefs and pitmasters, music, chef demos, and more. OCTOBER Kick off the fall festivities with a visit to a nearby pumpkin patch . Pick out the perfect pumpkin, take a hayride to the corn maze, meet farm animals, and snack on apple- and
pumpkin-flavored goodies!
Be sure to head downtown for the 54th Annual Greek Festival . There’s nothing like eating an authentic gyro or baklava while experiencing live music and traditional dancing! Other fun activities include Vestavia Hills’ Community Night Out (Oct. 1), with free food, bouncy houses, and more, Taste of Hoover (Oct. 15), and Mountain Brook’s Annual Halloween Parade (Oct. 31). NOVEMBER Celebrate the Day of the Dead at Día de los Muertos Número 24 (Nov. 2) with free arts activities for all ages, an artist market, live music, traditional dance, food, and more.
