The crew of George Cochrane,

Charles Beale, Harry Burt and Ryder McGuigan participated in the House fours competition. It was a race that was 500 metres in length and started with time trials to make divisions 1 and 2, which both had four boats. The Jacobs boat had a pretty good time trial

we did not take away one of the top three places, we did manage to pick up a couple of awards: Justin Barclay received an Actor’s Award for his part as Hansel, which was entertaining and funny. We also received a Magic Moment Award, for the ending in our play, which was fantastic to receive. House Golf Thomas Stephens, Hamish Patterson and Alex Hickman competed at Hagley Golf Course against boys from the other Houses. They played some very nice golf and earned some good scores to combine and be placed 2nd overall. To add to this, Tom Stephens was placed individually 1st equal with Matthew Hocquard. Cross-country The school cross-country was held in a different format this year because of the current restrictions. Boys had to sign up to compete on the 3km race course, which was run during lunchtime at Hagley Park. We had boys competing in three of the four age group categories and also had some very good success. In the U14 age group Henry Hiatt was 1st in the junior age group, Max Howard placed 4th, and in the senior grade, we managed to take out the top three places with Angus Thorne 1st, Hamish Patterson 2nd and Isaac Aitken 3rd. Interhouse rowing

and placed 4th overall, with School House Old Boys, a School House/ Corfe House mix and a Corfe boat being the other three boats. They unfortunately lost to the Old Boys’ boat and went into the 3rd and 4th race against Corfe, where they took the win, coming 3rd place overall. House Chess The House chess team was in action from the end of Term 3 through into Term 4 and up against some good opposition. It managed to win their way through to the final against Corfe House. In what was a tense setting, the boys performed well making the right moves to reach – checkmate, and become the Interhouse Chess champion for 2021! Well done to Arthur Woolhouse, Angus Whitteker, Alex Fulton and Justin Barclay. Junior House Hockey The junior house hockey team made it through to the final for the second year running and was keen to go one place better than its second- place finish last year. The team had overcome Richards House and School House on its way to the final against Corfe House. The boys had played some good hockey along the way, with a number of boys taking to the turf to pitch in. This year, they were victorious and won the final. Congratulations to all boys involved.
