Athletics Day at the end of February saw the boys competing in championship and non-championship events over the two days. Whether they were throwing, jumping or running, each School House boy gave his best. We had great support from parents and family and it was great for the entire community to gather over lunch at the Housemaster’s garden overlooking the Avon River. They did their best to impress the judge. A special mention needs to go to our backing band who only came together three days before our performance. Well done Oliver Biggs, George Helmore, Jake Abbiss, Rudi Beavan, Charlie Stanley, Geordie Pavey and James Hadden. A big thank you to the Year 13s and, in particular, Louis, Gus, Guy and Edward. Also, a special thanks to Nick Sutcliffe for his professional guidance and support of the House Choir. unable to host our mums, so it was great to open the Library again this year. This is an event to thank the mums for all that they do for their sons. The boys helped to set up the library and then served tea and coffee. The mums were able to sit back, relax, be pampered and enjoy the company of other mothers. A good time was had by all. The annual Parents’ Association House Music Festival took place mid-June in the Christchurch Town Hall. The House was in chorus as they sang their rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama .
