Major Cities Comparison The following graphs are a comparison (January - March 2025 and 2026) of Fort Worth (population of 1,028,117) to benchmark cities with either a similar population or proximity. Data through June will be available in the next quarterly report. Comparable cities with their population noted in parentheses include: San Antonio, TX (1,548,422), Dallas, TX (1,329,491), Austin, TX (1,002,632), El Paso, TX (683,012), Columbus (938,396), Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NC (964,784), and San Jose, CA (989,814). The population data source is the U.S. Census Bureau. Crime offense comparable data source is the Major Cities Chiefs Association. The offenses compared include homicide, rape (NIBRS offenses 11A, 11B, and 11C), robbery, and aggravated assault.
