Pocket Parks
Build upon the existing downtown plaza to create a series of “pocket plazas” within the city to function as community gathering and multi-purpose event spaces. As parkland is acquired and developed, continue to create a series of pocket plazas within the community to serve both residential and commercial neighborhoods with open space and modest, shaded improvements. Provide seating, shade, public art (interactive if possible), and food truck parking spaces where appropriate and feasible at pocket parks and plazas.

Development and Maintenance
Ensure maintaining existing parks and recreation facilities, including providing a minimum set of improvements, is a higher priority than developing new parks and recreation amenities and areas. Maintain existing parks with current amenities to a high level of quality, including restrooms and drainage areas. Develop/add amenities to existing parks in the city, scaled to the prioritization of park needs and uses, and as identified in associated park master plans as applicable. Special attention should be paid to the provision of boat and paddling-related launching opportunities and amenities where feasible/applicable and to providing and expanding restrooms where possible.
