Mike graduated from Delano High School in Minnesota and then spent four years in the United States Air Force. He came to Santa Maria in 1960 where he worked at Vandenberg Air Force Base for 46 years in Communications. He joined the Santa Maria Elks Lodge in 1968 and has worked on several committees, including 24 years as Greeter Captain and as Co-chairman. In 2014 Mike was elected to a 5-year Trustee position and was Chairman of the Board in 2018-2019. He was again elected as a 4- year Trustee in 2020. Mike is proud to be a 57-year Life Member of the Santa Maria Elks Lodge #1538, where he is very involved and stays busy volunteering. Mike served as Secretary on the Elks Rec Board of Directors from 2018-2024. Today he serves as Director on the Elks Rec Board and is kept very busy at the Elks Event Center, with the Elks Rodeo, and the many new and exciting annual holiday events.
Mike Arndt Treasurer
Steve was born in 1955 in Carmel, CA. and his family moved to Santa Maria in 1960. He attended Grace Baptist Church and attended local schools and graduated from Santa Maria High School in 1973, lettering in Basketball and Football. Steve started work in the Oil Fields, and bought his first home at 19 years old. He later went on to work as a Police Officer for a year and Deputy Marshall for 10 years. Afterwards he started his own business in 1992 “Steve’s Salt & Brine” and retired in 2019. Steve’s family consists of 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He served as the President of Breakfast Rotary in 1999, was the President of the Santa Maria Packers Semi-Pro Baseball Team and also served on the YMCA Golf Committee. Steve joined the Elks 43 years ago and has served on the Parade Committee, ENF Committee and is currently on the Investigations Committee, Gaming Committee, and 100-year Anniversary Committee. He is one of the BBQ Captains for the Elks Lodge. This year Steve is serving as the 2025-2026 Exalted Ruler of the Lodge.

Eva Guzman is a proud Santa Maria native, born and raised by hardworking parents who worked in the fields of Guadalupe. Their dedication and strong work ethic instilled in her the values of perseverance, humility, and service to others. She attended Arroyo Grande High School and continued her education at Allan Hancock College and Santa Barbara Business College, building a foundation that supports both her personal and professional growth. Eva is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, who are her greatest inspiration and motivation. For the past five years, she has been an active member of Santa Maria Elks Lodge #1538, where she has dedicated her time as a volunteer. She takes great pride in the work the Elks Lodge and Elks Recreation do to support the local community and is passionate about giving back. Now serving on the board, Eva is honored to be part of such a meaningful organization and looks forward to continuing her service.

Wes Brown is proud to call Santa Maria home. He attended local elementary schools and graduated from Santa Maria High. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Liz Carlotti. Wes and Liz have been blessed with a beautiful family; Jon, his wife Lisa and their two children Carter and Lexi, Ryan, his wife Jessica and their two children Olivia and Parker, and Jim and his fiancé Yesenia. Wes and Liz have been involved with many local civic and youth organizations over the years while also being active in church and school activities. It is through volunteering that Wes and Liz hope to pay forward a small part of the kindness and generosity that their family has received from our big-hearted community. This is Wes’ 22nd year as a member of Santa Maria Elks Lodge #1538 and his tenth year as an officer. He is currently serving as the Treasurer of the Board and as a Director for Elks Recreation, Inc. He also is Chairman of the Board for Santa Maria Lodge #1538 and California-Hawaii Elks Association Vice President for the West Coast District.
