Cal-Hawaii Elks Assoc. President LYNN GLICK (Bay District/Alameda Elks Lodge #1015)

Lynn Glick was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of an Elk. Some of her fondest childhood memories are of attending Elk family picnics, enjoying the games, companionship, and food provided by the Sioux Falls Elks Lodge, where her father Rex was a member for more than 25 years. Her first fraternal association was with Job’s Daughters where she went through the chairs and became Honored Queen.

Lynn graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in a special major focused on linguistics. She attended University of Hawaii, Manoa and received a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. She then returned to Sonoma State to complete her teaching credential program. Lynn worked for the Oakland Unified School District for 36 years, as a classroom teacher, Teacher on Special Assignment in the Office of Bilingual Education, and Reading Coach. She also served on several area and statewide education committees and projects, and presented at national education conventions.

Lynn and her husband, Jeff, have been married for 33 years. Jeff works in private practice as an appellate attorney, and has served as Exalted Ruler of Alameda Lodge. They have one daughter, Elissa, who graduated from American University, and resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Lynn was initiated into Alameda Lodge No. 1015 in 1997. She has served on several Lodge committees including House, Budget, Membership, as chair of the Lodge Public Relations Committee, and as a member of the Hall Association Board of Directors. She served as Lecturing Knight, Loyal Knight, Leading Knight, and finally as Exalted Ruler in 2001-02. Lynn served for 6 years as a Lodge Trustee, including 1 year as Chair. She has served as District Chair of the Indoctrination, Elks Training, Ritual Contest, and BLT Legacy Giving Committees, and is also a qualified ritual floor judge. She served as Association Vice President in 2008-09, as DDGER in 2011-12, and is currently district leader for the Bay District.

Lynn has served as a member of the CHEA Board of Trustees, the CHEMPI Board of Trustees, serving one year as Board Secretary, and as Vice Chair and Chair of the CHEA Bequests and Living Trusts Committee, and Vice Chair of the CHEA Meetings Committee.
