At Old Edwards Reserve at Lake Keowee, a charitable foundation offers a window into the people who live there and the place they have chosen to call home. FEATURE After You Arrive What Grows
It all started with something a member told us at dinner.
On June 7, at An Evening of Impact, the spring dinner and auction of the Reserve Charitable Foundation, one member told us The Foundation had been a main reason they chose to live at the Reserve.
The comment came during an evening devoted to raising money for organizations across Pickens County. Wine on the tables, a band, bid paddles going up over dinner. It is one of only three charitable giving events the Foundation holds each year, and it did not look or feel like one.
By the end of it, roughly half a million dollars had been raised. The 2025 event raised over $267,000. The growing response was worth following. So was the comment.
