The Reserve Lifestyle Fund is separate, funded by a percentage of every real estate sale. It pays overhead and member programming.
“ “We want to encourage mem- bers to look beyond our gates and see the needs that exist within the broader community.” Gilstrap points to a local principal who noticed children coming to school on Monday mornings with stomach aches and going to the health room. “It turns out... the children had not eaten since Friday at lunch at school.” The principal and several others in the com- munity took charge and started Feed a Hun- gry Child. It now sends weekend meals home with more than seven hundred children. The Foundation has funded it for over fifteen years. “Our hope is that, over time, the number of chil- dren who need this food will decrease rather than grow.” Feed a Hungry Child is one of 21 organizations The Foundation supports. Pickens County Meals on Wheels is another.
