PROGRAM GUIDE Winter 2024 LEMONT PARK DISTRICT
Daughter Date Night, p. 11
Dear Lemont Park District Community, We hope you are enjoying Fall and gearing up for a great holiday season. It is hard to believe that Winter is around the corner, but what a great Autumn it has been. We have exciting park projects coming up. The new Gleneagles Park will be home to a state-of-the-art play structure, walking path, full basketball court, two pickleball courts, and a pavilion! We will have some unique features that will pay history to the former Gleneagles Golf Course, including a synthetic putting green. Gleneagles Park construction is being managed by the home developer and is expected to be turned over to the Park District for public use sometime in 2024. A special “thank you” goes out to the Lemont Park Foundation as they worked countless hours facilitating their annual Golf Outing event that took place in September. Also, we would like to extend our gratitude to the sponsors and golfers for supporting this great fundraising event! From providing financial assistance through the Helping Hand Award Program, to assisting the Park District with the purchasing of equipment and community amenities, the Park Foundation is committed to enhancing the Park District. If you’re interested in joining this energetic group of volunteers, attend a meeting on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at The CORE. On November 10th, the Lemont Park District Veteran’s Luncheon will be held at The CORE honoring both past and present, who have served our country. This is always such a momentous event. This Winter, we hope you enjoy some of your favorite annual District events such as the Frigid 5K, Noon Year’s Eve Bash, Indoor Triathlon, and Daughter Date Night! Check out our new Mixology classes partnered with Pollyanna Social. Active adults can enjoy the trip options, entertaining theater choices, and the Mayflower Myrtle Beach Melodies Tour. On behalf of the Lemont Park District Board of Commissioners and Staff,
Bill McAdam, Board President
