We got married at Abbey House Hotel and Gardens in October 2023 and could not have asked for a better day. We chose Abbey House after attending a wedding open day in Autumn 2022 and being very impressed with the room set-up and wedding coordinators Laura and Lauren. We then booked our wedding and Laura and Lauren were always on hand to guide us through every step of the process. They took time to get to know us as a couple and had a real understanding of what we wanted from our wedding day. As Abbey House has strong relationships with local suppliers, Laura and Lauren were able to work with others on our behalf, which took a lot of stress out of the wedding planning. On the day itself, Laura, Lauren and the team at Abbey House were absolutely amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them. They ensured we and our guests had a fantastic wedding day in a gorgeous setting with excellent food and entertainment. We are so glad that we chose Abbey House for our special day. Thank you for everything x

The wedding team have been absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble and you went out of your way to make sure we had everything we needed. We are so grateful to you all and can never thank you enough. We have enjoyed our day massively and a big part of that was down to you all. Everyone was talking about how amazing the venue was and how thoughtful the staff were. Really can’t get over the day at all!

The hotel was amazing, so clean and well kept. The food was delicious and the grounds are just beautiful. We will definitely be revisiting this venue to stay, eat and even celebrate!”

The moment we arrived we were blown away with how amazing this hotel was, it was modern, clean organised and every member of staff were so polite and helpful. We had our wedding 19.02.23 ... wow what a day we will cherish for the rest of our lives! From start to finish the wedding planners, Laura & Lauren were amazing, answered all our questions and went above and beyond to create our magical day! Thank you to all the staff at Abbey House for creating the most amazing memories for us. Our family & friends have described our day as " the most amazing wedding they have been to!" Firstly, a HUGE thank you to all three of you. Lauren and Laura, you were both unbelievably fantastic in the planning process, planning a wedding throws so many obstacles in your way that you absolutely do not anticipate when you book your special day. However, Michael and I were extremely fortunate to have such supportive and caring people at the other end of the phone if we needed it in yourselves. We’ve said right from the beginning of the process that the one thing we got “right” was our venue at Abbey House and when the day finally came around our thoughts on this were cemented! From start to finish, it felt flawless! Nothing at all was too much to ask or to handle and we really felt like we could relax because you guys were taking care of everything to the highest of standards!

Our guests have complimented the venue so much since the day, they’ve commented on the beautiful building and surroundings, the amazing food, the friendly and approachable service and how everything felt so seamless.

In our opinion you guys are the best in the business and it’s absolutely clear that the three of you love your jobs and you do absolutely everything you can to ensure your bride and grooms have the day of their dreams.

A shout out to Michael, the manager at Oscar’s too - we’ve enjoyed the food at Oscar’s regularly since we booked our wedding and the service and food there has always been exceptional. We truly appreciated the touch of chateaubriand (prior arrangement) for the night after the wedding, cooked to perfection as always!

Thank you all so much again, You all felt like friends throughout the whole process and we had the best day of our lives.

We’ll see you next year for our one year anniversary night stay!

“We had the most amazing wedding at Abbey House on” Sunday 18th August. I could not thank the wedding team enough, especially Lauren who was like a breath of fresh air from the beginning to end. I really feel like the day would not of been possible without all her and the teams hard work. Lauren answered all my questions quickly and nothing was to much trouble. On the big day Rob and Lauren made myself and Daniel feel so at ease so we were just able to enjoy our day. The staff at Abbey House were first class, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The whole day was absolutely perfect and Lauren really is the best in the business, we will be forever grateful to her for making our big day come together!”

From meeting Lauren at the Lake District Wedding show to having our first breakfast as a married couple, the whole process was just incredible & faultless.

I had a list of places that I dreamt of getting married, but after visiting Abbey House, we completely fell in love. The food, the rooms, the staff, the grounds & the whole feel of the place really took us by surprise. Every excuse to visit the venue on the lead up to the wedding we took & by the time the day came, we felt at home. Lauren, Laura & Rob, along with all of the other staff that we met & that contributed to our big day, we honestly can’t thank enough. Nothing was too much to ask & they made everything so easy. We had the best day & I really wish we could experience it all over again.

To be completely honest, Lauren was our biggest reason for booking this place & we will be forever grateful for everything she did 🤍

With giving ourselves only 6 months to plan a wedding we knew available dates would be minimal. However, as always Abbey House didn't disappoint. From getting our dream wedding booked to it happening 6 months later it couldn't have been smoother sailing! The wedding team are amazing and kept us on track over the months of what we needed to organise and when. We wanted very minimal decor with it being Christmas and the amazing decorations at abbey house already being up and the team listened and delivered! It was also our son's birthday and the team helped set up an amazing kids corner to help him relax and celebrate his birthday. On the day I couldn't have been a more chilled out Bride knowing I was in safe hands. The waiting on staff, bar staff and general staff around during the day couldn't have made the day anymore perfect for ourselves and our guests, they went the extra mile and allowed us to embrace the outdoor Christmas decorations during a last minute planning of sparkler photos. The housekeeping staff also helped family members leave some memorable decor and gifts in our room as a lovely surprise 🩷
