In Memoriam KIT DAHL

Christopher "Kit" T. Dahl (1943-2022)was an incredible individual who helped so many in our community. Kit joined the TPT Board of Trustees in 2018 and co-chaired its strategic planning committee, resulting in TPT’s 2030 Roadmap released in January 2022. Kit provided unparalleled insight for the TPT leadership and did so with a smile. In addition to strategic planning, Kit served on TPT’s Governance, Audit & Risk and Executive Committees, as well as its CEO Search Committee in 2018-2020. Kit had a storied career. He founded the popular children’s broadcasting network, Radio AAHS, which reached millions of listeners nationwide at its peak. He was also the creative mind behind the hit TV show, “Six Million Dollar Man.” After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he joined the media department at Knox Reeves, where he became the youngest major brand Account Manager in the U.S. He was a kind man who was always made time for fun and sport. He piloted his own planes and boats, won tarpon fishing tournaments in the Florida Keys, loved to hunt in South Dakota, Canada, and Nicaragua, and enjoyed skiing and sailing. His obituary in the Star Tribune put it best: “His collection of close friends was immense and the connections he forged were deeply felt. Thoughtful, strategic, challenging in both business and personal relationships, he did not readily accept the easy answer, always probing for insights and evaluating risk. ‘Never make a move until you know your next two,’ he always said.” Kit will be dearly missed as a business partner, board member and friend.
