The 9th annual Living Locally Fair will take place on January 21 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Russell, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A partnership event between the Russell & District Horticultural Society and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School, the fair will feature some 130 local producers, artisans and community groups. There is no charge to attend but donations to the Food Bank will be welcome. —photo fournie
les communautés de Russell et des districts environnants. Tous les revenus générés par les activités sont dépensés dans le cadre de projets communautaires. Il n’y aura aucuns frais d’entrée, mais des dons à la banque alimentaire seront acceptés. Près de 5000 personnes ont assisté à la foire l’année dernière. L’événement attire non seulement les gens d’ici et des com- munautés voisines, mais aussi d’Ottawa et de l’est de l’Ontario. Entre autres, les gens viennent pour y goûter fromages locaux, chocolats ou viandes fumées, tandis que d’autres visiteurs la fréquentent pour des produits biologiques ou pour en apprendre davantage sur les variétés du patrimoine du bétail et des légumes.

On Friday, December 15, Corvinelli Homes and Russell Scotiabankmatched funds to donate $5,000 to the Russell Township Sports Dome project. To date, the project has raised close to $80,000.
