246 will be until God gets ready to do it. He has taken nearly two thirds of His Book, the Bible, to tell us all this and also to tell us just when He will con vert the world; that it will be when Jesus returns a second time in glory to the world. God is doing now and has for two thousand years been doing just what He said He would do in the age of grace— taking out a people pecu liar to His name. Evangelization is the key to this age and to the program of the church. Preach the Gospel of a crucified, risen, victorious Christ, to every creature, that is evangelization. God does not purpose in this age to redeem the world, He purposes in this age to save all who will accept the finish ed work of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and then, when God sees that all have heard and have had their chance to turn to the Lord Jesus for salvation, He will send His Son back, who, when He -comes, will set up His kingdom of right eousness. Some one will say, “What about social reformation?” We can not accomplish it in this age, God has said we cannot— why will we not believe Him? But we can, if we will mind God and set ourselves to the task that God has marked out for us, bring back the only One who can bring about a thorough social reformation and re deem the world. The world must be evangelized before He will return. “ He is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Pet. 3 :9). Whenever you turn aside and link up with any movement that aims to do any other work than evangelizationt, you not only delay the return of the King, but by your wilfulness and disobedi ence you lengthen the time of the world’s misery and woe. Why go on fighting God? Why not do what God tells us to do? All around us is a seething caldron of misery and woe, of vice and sin. God tells us that when
THE K I N G ’ S BUS I NE S S the Lord returns He will take away all this misery and defeat all this sin— God tells us that we cannot put it away but that Jesus can— God tells us that we must tell the world of the salvation that is in Jesus and that then He will ■return to set up His kingdom. Do you not see that by giving your money to support men and methods which do not look solely toward telling the Gos pel; that by spending your time in a fruitless attempt to redeem the world you are not only disobeying God but you are proving yourself an enemy of society by blocking the way to the re turn of the King who will, at His com ing, make all things right? After you have fed, clothed, and sheltered a man there is still the old sinful heart, unre deemed and therefore unfit for heaven if you have nqt led it to Je§us Christ who alone saves from sin. You can give your time and money to evangelize; you can declare that, as for you, you will give neither time nor money for anything else. May the Lord hasten the day when those who love Him will see the truth and dare to take this stand. Some are saying that .Christianity is a failure. Never in the least little thing has Christianity failed. God has been doing for two thousand years in this age of grace, just what He declared He would do. • As the Gospel is preach ed He is calling out one here and an other there and building His church. This we have seen and this we see all of the time. Wherever the Gospel is preached some believe and are saved. Thus God said it would be, and thus it is. No failure here but a clear and distinct fulfilling of the purposes of God, for not world redemption but soul salvation is the purpose of God in this age of grace. But, when the Gospel has been fully declared, then Jesus will return and then will He reign on this earth. When He comes back we will not learn war any more, neither will sin reign, but the
