OPP trying to identify suspicious person in Rockland
The OPP is seeking the public’s help to identify a man suspected of approaching children in Rockland. The Russell County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received the com-

UCDSB re-elects chair and vice-chairs
Jeff McMillan was acclaimed chair of the Board of Trustees of the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) for the 2017-18 term. McMillan, who has served as chair since December 2014, said he was gratified by the acclamation and the trust Board members have expressed in his leadership. “I have worked very hard on your behalf to represent this position with integrity and I will continue to do so,” McMillan said, via news release. The Board also acclaimed 1 st Vice-Chair Caroll Carkner, and elected incumbent 2 nd Vice-Chair David McDonald to the position for another year. Carkner has served in her current role since December 2014. McDonald has served in his current role as 2 nd vice-chair since December 2010, and previously served in the position from December 2006 to December 2008. — Alexia Marsillo Impaired driving charges Within the last three weeks, Russell County OPP conducted 35 “R.I.D.E” (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) operations. As a result, two people were arrested. Benoit Lalonde, 29, of Wendover, and Sarah-Jane Franklin, 35, of Limoges were charged with impaired driving.Their vehicles were impounded and their driver’s licenses were suspended for 90 days. Collision impliquant un autobus scolaire Le détachement du comté de Russell de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario a enquêté sur une collision impliquant un autobus scolaire et une camionnette, le lundi 4 décembre 2017. À environ 7h50, un autobus scolaire circulait sur le chemin Lacroix, à Clarence-Rockland, lorsqu’il était atteint à l’arrière par une camionnette. Il y avait 21 étudiants dans l’autobus au moment de la collision. Ils n’ont pas été blessés. Le conducteur de la camionnette a été accusé d’avoir suivi de trop près. Foire de l’emploi Un appel a été lancé aux employeurs cette semaine, par le Centre de services à l’emploi (CSEPR), pour qu’ils s’inscrivent à la Foire de l’emploi 2018. La Foire de l’emploi 2018 aura lieu le 17 mars à Hawkesbury et le 24 mars à Rockland. Le CSEPR s’est fixé comme objectif d’attirer une trentaine d’employeurs-exposants pour chacun des évè- nements.
