NanoAligner: Bridging R&D and Production in Photonic Assembly

nanosystec introduces the NanoAligner, a compact active alignment platform designed to help photonics manufacturers accelerate the transition from research and development to pilot production and scalable manufacturing. The system provides an accessible entry point for precision active alignment without requiring a full production line, while offering a clear upgrade path to a fully automated assembly platform using the same software and hardware ecosystem. At the core of the NanoAligner is a high-precision six-axis alignment stack capable of sub-micron positioning for active alignment based on optical or electrical feedback signals. The platform is suitable for applications including

fiber-to-chip coupling, edge coupling, grating coupling and the assembly of optoelectronic components. Its flexible mechanical design allows adaptation to different device geometries, measurement concepts and process requirements, making it an ideal tool for product and process development, validation and pilot manufacturing. The NanoAligner integrates motion control, machine vision, powerful alignment routines and process automation through nanosystec’s TestMaster software. An open Python interface provides maximum flexibility for custom lab automation, seamless integration of external instruments and peripheral equipment, and rapid application development with AI-assisted programming. Additional detectors and external instrumentation can be

incorporated through open hardware and software interfaces, ensuring flexibility for future process expansion. By combining precision alignment, modular automation and a scalable system architecture, the NanoAligner supports the development of photonic

products and reproducible assembly processes, enabling a smooth transition from R&D and pilot production to high- volume manufacturing.

RJ45 planning and installation: now easier and faster than ever with R&M

With the launch of its harmonised next- generation RJ45 portfolio, R&M is simplifying LAN projects from specification to installation. A universal module design reduces the number of variants to just two per category Planners, buyers and installers can select the right option more quickly, manage fewer part numbers and reduce SKU complexity. At the heart of the upgrade is Easy Lock quick-mounting technology. Wire guiding, copper wire connection and housing closure are combined into one simple, tool-free step, enabling termination in as little as one to two minutes per module. Integrated features such as strain relief, colour coding and an attached dust cover cap also reduce the risk of dropped parts, installation errors and unnecessary rework.

The modernised Cat. 6A, Cat. 6 and Cat. 5e modules are designed for structured LAN cabling in building, office and IT networks. The EL 4.0 range supports applications up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet, while the ISO range provides additional system margins and transmission rates of up to 40 Gbit/s. R&M has also improved sustainability across the range by phasing down plastic packaging in favour of recycled cardboard boxes and paper bags. Compatible across the R&Mfreenet system and

adaptable for third- party products, the new modules offer flexibility for projects worldwide, without compromising performance, reliability or ease of use. The result is a smarter, cleaner and more efficient RJ45 solution that helps customers speed up rollouts, simplify logistics and deliver reliable network performance over time.
