169b Biola has become; (2) that the School solidify the academic disciplines to minimize the degree of duplicity, yet maintain a significant identity for professional progress. When the change in the name of the School was discussed, Dr. Chase, expressing his reluctance to give up the name Biola, reconunending the pos- ' sibility of the name Biola University. The Board, favorably impressed with all his suggestions, approved them. At their next meeting on May 28, 1981, consequently they voted to amend the Articles of Incorporation to change the name to Biola University. When one reviews the history and deveiopment of ~his institution which began in 1908 as the Bible Institute of Los Angeles with thirty-five student·s and two . regular teachers, one can appreciate better Biola University as it exists today. A comparison of the limited curricultLm of ~ few courses in 1908 with the curricula of Biola today in its four Schools and its numerous undergraduate and graduate programs, also reveals the progress that has been made. Today, Biola University is a highly respecteq Christian Liberal Arts University, fully accredited in the highest · circles of education. For this one cannot help but shout with a greatful heart, "To God be the Glory, great things He has done."
