Preventative Maintenance Schedule

Once Per Month

Check motor amperage with amp meter. Press “test” button on thermal overload to ensure it will turn off the motor in the event of a fault.

Once Per Year Disconnect power coming into the motor starter. Ensure all wiring connections are tight (over time connections can become loose due to heating/cooling cycles on the wires when a motor is turned on/off) Disconnect power coming into the motor starter. Remove junction box cover from motor and check the wire nut connections to ensure they are tight. Inspect junction box for unusual discoloration which could indicate overheating.
