Whether you want to stay in the city or make a full day of it, here are some family- friendly fall spots worth knowing about. Queens County Farm Museum You don’t have to leave NYC for a proper fall farm experience. Queens County Farm Museum’s pumpkin patch is open throughout October, and the farm is also home to New York City’s only corn maze — the three-acre Amazing Maize Maze. Best for: A classic fall day without leaving the five boroughs.
Harbes Orchard has 27 varieties of apples and plenty more to keep kids busy, including pumpkin picking, a corn maze and family activities. Its 2026 Apple Festival takes place September 12–13. Best for: Families who want lots to do For a more relaxed Hudson Valley orchard experience, Stone Ridge Orchard offers pick-your-own apples and Asian pears from around Labor Day through the end of October.
