Officers of the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a total of 492 calls, from April 1st to April 7. Officers of the Highway Safety Division of the OPP were called to a single vehicle collision on Ste-Catherine Road in Russell Township, on April 5, at about 5:15 pm. They BSSFTUFEBZFBSPMENBOGSPN&NCSVO and charged him with operation of a vehicle while impaired, all the while detaining a youth Ontario driving license. He received a 90-day driver›s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L›Orignal on May 9. About an hour later, officers responded to a traffic complaint on Richelieu Street in Rockland. Their investigation revealed that a man had been consuming alcohol and was impaired, behind the wheel. Mark Tanner, a 55-year-old man of Ottawa, was charged with operation of a vehicle while impaired, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of over 80 and driving while under suspension. He received a 90-day driver›s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L›Orignal on April 24. On April 7, at about 3:30 pm, officers Marie-France Lalonde, députée provin- ciale d’Orléans, souhaite mettre fin au changement d’heure semi-annuel. L’heure d’été permanente signifie que les personnes qui travaillent de jour, et les enfants qui vont à l’école pendant la journée bénéficient de plus de lumière du jour après le travail. Cela signifie se lever quand il fait un peu plus sombre en échange d’une heure de lumière supplémentaire après le travail. MPP for Orléans Marie-France Lalonde presented the Sunshine Protection Act in Queen’s Park last week, calling for the end of Daylight Saving in Ontario by 2020. This would put an end to twice yearly time changes, pushing sunshine later in the day in Ontario.
