GURDWARA

Last week, Year 1 had a fantastic visit to ‘Guru Nanak’ Gurdwara in Smethwick. The children were able to look around the Gurdwara and experience a morning in one of Europe’s oldest Gurdwara. Children witnessed the congregation in meditation and even partook in the Langar (a free, communal kitchen), enjoying freshly cooked chips and beans. Staff enjoyed trying out traditional food and, as part of the Sikhism customs, we all sat and ate together as equals. Thank you to those who helped on the visit. CAKE SALE Our next event will be the Fashion Show on Thursday 4th May from 7-9pm at the Infant School. Please contact Gail Hughes for tickets on gail@Questleisure.com We will be allocating Friends of Abbey funds to school projects at our bid meeting on Thursday 11th May from 1:45pm at the Junior School. Everyone is welcome to come along. ‘WEAR’ DID YOU GET THAT HAT? Adults and children joined forces to raise money for brain tumour research by wearing either an Easter bonnet or another hat of their choice. Our school raised £130 for this worthy charity.
