MAKING A SPLASH

The Abbey swimmers travelled to Langley baths to represent Sandwell in the ‘Level 3 School Games Competition.’ They raced against other schools from Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Dudley. They were competitive throughout and had a fantastic time competing in front of a large crowd. The Abbey boys’ team finished in 11th place across the Black Country. The Abbey girls’ team finished in 3rd place in the Black Country. Special mention for Isla Powell (4J) who, not only won her back stroke heat but, had the fastest time across all three heats! Fastest backstroke in the whole Black Country! A huge well done! TRI GOLF TO THE FORE A team of year 3 and a team of year 4 travelled to Brandhall Primary School to compete in the ‘Sainsbury’s School Games Golf Competition.’ Many of the children had never tried golf before but were ready to have fun and give it their best shot. They all had a great time having a go at chipping and putting and found they got better and better as the afternoon went on. The Abbey Year 3 team finished a very respectable 5th place and the Year 4s earned themselves a fantastic 2nd, taking home a silver medal each!
