BBEY LENS June 2017 CSI Bearwood! Abbey Investigates Vol 3: Issue No. Forty eight Excellence Through Partnership

THE

MURDER MOST HORRID

During the last week of the half term, year 5 took part in a Murder Mystery week. They were taken to see the murder scene to identify any clues and to make a prediction about what they thought had happened. After being given a suspect list with details about each of them, they had to complete several tasks throughout the week to solve the murder. These activities included problem solving, code breaking, applying maths skills as well as using Roman numerals and Morse Code. After gradually eliminating suspects throughout the week, receiving breaking news and watching interviews, they have finally solved the mystery of the murderer at Abbey... Miss Hinton! COMMUNITY PICNIC On Father’s Day, Sunday June 18 th , Bearwood folk are being encouraged to gather at Lightwoods Park, on the grass in front of the House, to take part in a community picnic. It is part of a series of events called the Great Get Together taking place all over the country to commemorate the life of Jo Cox MP, to mark the anniversary of her murder. Jo believed that we have more in common than that which divides us, and it is in this spirit that all members of the community are asked to bring along a blanket and their picnic and come and be part of this free fun family event between midday and 3pm. The regular family games session will be taking place in the park from 2pm, so there should be plenty to do.
