These outcasts of Samaria, like th a t other one a t th e well of Jacob, bring o u t in strong con trast the ideal faith an d tru e appreciation of the person of Jesu s Christ. (1) COMPANIONS IN MISERY, vs. 11, 12. “Ten men th a t were lepers.’’ “Misery loves company.” This saying could have no tru e r exemplifications th a n in th e case of lepers whose disease called for special legislation upon the p a rt of Jehovah. Leprosy typifies th e hereditary, loath­ some, contagious, incurable disease of sin. The command of God regarding the leper was, “He is unclean: he shall dwell alone; w ithout the camp shall be his h ab itation ” (Lev. 13 :46 ).
