It is all about control and precision for this shower range. The Aqualisa Quartz Smart Retrofit Shower won the judges over with its sleek mixer valve that blends hot and cold water to a T. The product allows the user to start the shower in advance with a command to the smart speaker or remote control – great for families running after the kids at bath time. Homeowners can also use the Aqualisa app to start the shower from their phone. The application offers useful stats such as water usage and estimated costs. The judges were impressed by the fact that the product can be installed without re-tiling, which means lower costs and less disruption for the homeowners. The six years of R&D in innovation have more than paid off, as the judges considered the HVO Biofuel Compatible Grant Vortex Condensing Boiler as a real breakthrough in renewable energy research. The product was classified as “the future for the Irish market.” This condensing boiler uses 100% Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), which can result in an approximate reduction of 88% in carbon emissions. With energy bills on the rise, the boiler’s competitive price was also mentioned by the judges as a bonus. The panel was also impressed by the fact that older Grant condensation boilers can be adapted to HVO with a suitable biofuel burner.
