Elaine explained how the concept of thought leadership can be used
to attendees’ advantage, how it can be interpreted in various ways. She outlined how to become a role model, to be seen as an influencer, and how to progress their career.
This session allowed delegates to ask burning questions that they had relating to payroll, either in general or related to specific scenarios within their organisation.

In this discussion Brian shone a light on what ‘Confirmation of Payee’ is, how it is being implemented, how it might develop in the future and what action employers need to take now. (Confirmation of Payee is a name-checking service created by Pay.UK, designed to prevent certain types of fraud and now being implemented by banks and building societies.)
Jason Davenport MCIPP MIoD, CIPP chair, brought the CIPP’s 35th Annual Conference and Exhibition to a close, extending thanks to delegates, sponsors and exhibitors. Jason looked ahead to the 36th Annual Conference in 2020 which is being held at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales.
